Hi parents! Welcome to our high ability blog. It is very new and as you can see I have not been able to get some items posted like I want to such as my profile and some pictures but this is coming in the next weeks! I just wanted to get it up and running first.
Just so you know of some opportunities this summer, this coming from the state and Purdue. The 2011 GERI Summer Residential Camps for gifted, creative, and talented youth at Purdue University are taking place July 3 through July 16! Do you know a young person in grades 5-12 who might like to participate in this challenging, hands-on and enriching experience here at Purdue University? Each summer for over 30 years students have engaged in intellectually stimulating coursework while living in the Purdue Residence Halls with access to the world-class facilities, including the libraries and state-of-the-art science and computer labs. Experienced teachers, with outstanding content expertise guide students by sharing their knowledge and experiences in a hands-on, minds-on learning environment.
Here is their website and go the "youth" selection from their menu for more information.
We had two Destination Imagination Teams from our corporation that made it past the first round of competition and will compete at the state level. I have had the privilege to be part of this organization in the past as a coordinator, a parent of a global participant and as a judge. If you are interested in learning more about DI, please contact me. New teams will be starting in the fall.
